MAIN RESISTANCES TO MOTION IN GATLING WEAPONS

The paper deals with resistances against rotation of barrel group at Gatling weapons: feeding and husking of cartridge from belst, locking or unlocking of breec,inserting of cartridge into chamber on the rate of fire and their infuences on required power. Computed results are compare with measuring on 12.7 mm Gatling machine gun. The mathematical model will be published in following paper next time.

SOLUTION OF THE PYRO-RECOCKING SYSTEM OF THE AUTOMATIC CANNON

The paper deals with the problem of the recocking of rhe automatic cannon (e.g. in the aircraft in case of its stoppage). Pyrocartridges are utilized for this case. The theory enabling the theoretical solution of this case is presented. It consists of three periods including the only burning of the propellant, the burning combined with the flow of gases into the gas cylinder and this flow after the end of propellant burning. The losses during the gas flow are discussed. The comparison of the theoretical solution with results of experiments is shown. Problems of propellant burning have been solved by the first author, the flow of gases into the cylinder and the acceleration of the weapon mechanism by the second author.

TUBE CHARGE WITH PROFILED SURFACE

The paper describes the properties of the solid propellant tube charge being profiled on the outer surface and introduces the procedure of the main geometric characteristics determination. It is mainly aimed at the course of the burning surface variation of this type of the solid propellant charge in individual phases of burning.

PERFORMANCE PREDICTION OF LEVEL SHARP TURNS

The paper introduces the analytical method derivation and the performance characteristic calculation of sharp level turns assuming negligible value of engine thrust. An airplane is considered to be the mass point. Aerodynamic characteristics on the airplane are replaced by the parabolic polar curve. Working formulas are determined on the base of the analytical integration of airplane motion equations. Numerical integration of motion equations was utilized to obtain flight paths. All solutions are performed in general dimensionless shape. Determination of the real airplane characteristics requires knowledge of the optimum airspeed at operation conditions.

AMMUNITION SHOT ACCURACY TEST WITH FOULED GUN

This article stipulates the purpose, procedure and methodology for evaluation of shooting with ammunition using a fouled gun. The procedure for evaluation is based on statistical analysis of data obtained during shooting process with a clean and a fouled gun (position and dispersion parameters).

THE IMPACT OF ATMOSPHERE TURBULENCE ON GUIDANCE PARAMETERS IN THE TRACKING COORDINATOR

The turbulence of the atmosphere can to change the size and shape of the image target, to bring about fluctuation of the amplitude of radiation impact on modulator or photodetector, to bring about random change of position of the aim and hereby to cause random error in aiming of target and in measurement angle position of the target, possibly angular velocity, and to influence range of coordinator. The impact of the real atmosphere on output signal of optoelectronic tracking coordinator is analysed in this article.
